Gert & Uwe Tobias were born in 1973 in Brassov (Romania), but grew up in Germany.
They graduated from the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) and now live in Cologne. Their works have been shown on the global art scene since 2003, at venues including the Turin Triennale, the Musée des Beaux-Arts et d’Archéologie, Besançon (France), the Maramotti Collection (Italy), the Kunstmuseum, Bonn, the MNAM-Centre Pompidou, Paris, and the BPS22, Charleroi (Belgium)...
They feature in the collections of the MoMA (New York), the Hammer Museum (Los Angeles), the Kunstmuseum (Bonn), the Kupferstichkabinett (Berlin), the Frac Auvergne (France), the Florence and Daniel Guerlain donation to the MNAM-Centre Pompidou and in the private collection of Florence and Daniel Guerlain.
They are represented by the Galerie Rodolphe Janssen (Brussels), Cassina Projects (Milan) and Contemporary Fine Arts (Berlin).
